Free Standard Shipping
The folks at GearGuys are online shoppers just like you, and as such, we understand that the cost of shipping can sometimes keep you from purchasing online. Because of that, we always offer free standard (ground) shipping on any order of $50 or more*. So mouse around the site and find $50 bucks worth of stuff so you don't have to pay those ship charges!
If you can't find $50 worth of stuff, we charge a flat fee of $4.95 for orders under $50.

*Note, unfortunately due to high costs from the carriers, we cannot ship oversized items (Surfboards, Snowboards, etc.) for free. Freight charges for oversized items will be added during checkout. This offer applies to orders within the continental U.S. only, standard carrier rates apply to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Protecterates & APO address'.
Transit Time Map
Gear Guys ships via Fedex & USPS within the Continental United States. Use the Map above to estimate the shipping time to your destination.
To calculate transit time, use the map above, find your location relative to Gear Guys (Northern CA) & go from there. I.e., Denver Colorado is 3 days transit time from our warehouse, Chicago Illinois is 4 days.
Gear Guys ships many orders on the same day & makes every effort to ship all orders within 1 business day from receipt of your order Note- this does not include most complete skateboards which require assembly, please allow an additional 1-3 days for complete skateboards. However if an order is placed during the weekend, your order will not ship until the following Monday. For more information, please feel free to contact us via phone or email.
Please note for rush or overnight orders, we cannot guarantee same day shipping for orders placed after 1 p.m. PST, please call for rush shipments and we will do our best to accomodate you if possible.
U.S. Shipping Rates
Orders under $75 For orders under $75 that ship within the Continental U.S. shipping is $4.95
Orders over $75 Orders totalling over $75 that are not oversized (see above) ship Free in the continental U.S. via Ground
Alaska & Hawaii ground charges range from $10-$35 depending on weight, we do ship via USPS priority mail to Alaska, Hawaii, & Armed forces address' when possible
2nd Day Air This charge is based on the weight of the item & can be viewed during checkout, charges range from $20 to $56
Air (overnight) This charge is based on the weight of the item & can be viewed during checkout, charges range from $28 to $68
Canadian Shipping Rates
** Please note- Gear Guys is not responsible for any duties and/or taxes that may be incurred on International shipments upon arrival at their destination. **
Ground Depending on the weight of your item, charges range from $15 to $30 & the charge is available to view during checkout
2nd Day Air (3-5 days for Canadian shipments) This charge is based on the weight of the item & can be viewed during checkout, charges range from $24 to $70
Air (2-3 days depending on location) This charge is based on the weight of the item & can be viewed during checkout, charges range from $40 to $125
International Shipping Rates
Air (3-10 days depending on location) This charge is based on the weight of the item & can be viewed during checkout, charges range from $40 to $125
Surfboard Shipping Info
Why is it so expensive to ship a surfboard?
Many Surfboards are considered Oversize Three(OS3) by the major door-to-door carriers (UPS, FedEx). This classification means that they charge a substantial surcharge to deliver. Larger size boards exceed many shipping companies maximum size limitations must be delivered via LTL Truck (not a common carrier like UPS or FedEx).
Trucking companies charge a lower shipping fee than the major door-to-door services, but they do impose a surcharge on the majority of residential deliveries and those outside of major metropolitan areas.
Does Gear Guys mark up its shipping fees?
No, in most circumstances Gear Guys charges you less than it actually costs us to ship the board to you. Check around, you will find other online retailers charge up to $175 to ship a surfboard to your door.
What are my shipping options?
1.Local Pickup
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boards can be picked up at our either our warehouse in San Rafael, CA or at our shop in Berkeley, CA. Cost- FREE
2. Home/Business Delivery
Residential/Business delivery for boards under 8'in length Cost- $75
Residential/Business delivery for boards over 8'in length Cost- $100
4. Can I save on shipping if I purchasing more than one board?
Regional Hub Pickup
In order to keep shipping costs low for multi-board orders, we have created a shipping method that delivers your board to the shipping hub closest to your Zip Code. We do this because trucking companies charge additional fees to deliver to areas beyond there local hubs. By getting your board to your general area, we save you a lot of money on shipping.
Here are the shipping costs for multiple boards:
2 boards ship to local hub- $100
3 boards shipped to local hub- $150
4 boards shipped to local hub- $175
5 or more boards shipped to local hub- CALL FOR PRICING
If you choose this method, we will contact you after you place your order to determine the closest regional hub for shipment.
